What Bernadette movies SHOULD I watch? I hear they can be a little whack. "The Last Best Year" looks good. Any suggestions? I'm a huge fan of her stage work, but other than "Annie" I don't know what she's like on film.

In my opinion, "Pennies From Heaven" is the starting point, and an absolute must.

The Jerk. It was my first Bernadette movie after seeing her on stage and the contrast between Mama Rose and her character in The Jerk showed me what a versatile performer she is.

"whack" is short for whacky...(I think)

I checked a website devoted to current slang, and it said that "whack" or "wack" meant "stupid, not good, or unappealing to the general taste."
