So I had a meeting on the Upper West Side tonight. I got on the 1/9 subway at Columbus Circle near my house. The car I got in was VERY crowded and I tried to push my way in. After the next stop enough people got off that I was able to move toward the center of the car and share a pole with a woman in the center. A few minutes past, its too crowded for me to get my book out so I just stood there and looked around. Finally I got around to looking at the woman sharing the pole with me - It Was Donna, Bernadette's Sister.

She was reading a book so she was kind of looking down. But she was wearing a pair of sparkly shoes that I could totally see Bernadette wearing. She is, of course tiny, even smaller than Bernadette and the most interesting thing I noticed - they have the exact same hands. I mean the exact same! Anyway, she got off at 79th Street and went on her way.

Just an interesting New York story I thought you all would appreciate.

I didn't notice. In fact now that I think about it she may have been reading a magazine. I'm not sure now. I know she was looking down and reading. LOL

Cool Moljul!

How come I never see anyone on the subway? The best story I have is sitting next to Cady Huffman (but not realizing it until I was about to get off...).

Cool! I wish you had been able to talk to her. Darn book. I was seeing Jimmy Smits on the B for a while this summer - he always got off at 81st so I assumed he was going to rehearsal or performance at Shakespeare in the Park. Also on the B, I occasionally see some "extras" like the actress who played the grandmother on "Suddenly Susan" and the actress who played Jennifer Garner's assistant in "13 Going on 30". She's been in some other stuff too like "Tadpole" (which if you haven't seen it, you definitely should - it's a great movie). I work in Rockefeller Plaza so I see a lot of actors around the plaza.

Well even if she wasn't reading, I doubt I would have bothered her. There's nothing like trying to get home after a long day's work and having to be chatty with someone you don't know.

Though the fact that she was reading gave me a better opportunity to look at her more closely to make sure she was who I thought she was. LOL

Thanks for the great story mojul! Something similar happened to me at the last performance of Gypsy. After the show, my family and I were shuffling out when i bumped into a woman with crutched. I was soooo horrified and apologized. Anyways, when I got a chance to look at her, i realized it was Donna! I couldn't believe it. I just kept on walking and looking at the uncanny resmeblance. Afterwards, I was in Shubert Alley and she walked by and winked at me! lol!!!
