Also in the Reba McIntire section he writes it so it looks like Reba raised box office sales from the time Bernadette was in it. Yes, the box office was making around $600K when Reba took over but that was because Cheryl Ladd was playing Annie at the time. When Bernadette was in the role, it was making $900K and sometimes more. Reidel is still trying to work in little digs at Bernadette no matter how suttle they are.
Here is the quote about Bernadette. I don't agree with any of it. I really don't feel Gypsy has diminished her box office draw at all. Heck, they aren't even sure if Boy From Oz will return their investment and they are running exactly a year as well.
"Her box-office clout was dimmed somewhat by "Gypsy," which only returned half its investment.
But despite being miscast as Momma Rose, she kept the show on the boards for over a year. Find her a role she's more suited to, and she'll bounce back."

We all know how amazing she is...I'd like to see him get up there and sing Mama Rose 8 performances a week-piece of shit!! Sorry but this irritates me. It's always irritating when finally a wonderful show like GYPSY goes up on broadway with a wonderful person like Bernadette and people like him have to say these things!
"Take off your jacket!"--Joan Rivers to Bernadette
"TAKE OFF YOUR DRESS!!"--Bernadette's reply.

But we all know (and I'm sure Bernadette knows as well) that Gypsy was a success, she wasn't miscast, and she certainly has nothing to bounce back from. Riedel's just a jerk, definitely has something against Bernadette for some reason, but anyone who has any knowledge of theater or Bernadette knows he's wrong. I guess it's best to just ignore him, although he is extremely irritating!

Good statement too, BPfan11.
When Bernadette "bounces back," I hope it's a hard bounce off the top of Reidel's head...

I think despite his lack of journalistic integrity he couldn't compose the list he composed without including Bernadette. Regardless of his feelings for her, he can't deny that she is one of the few people that can open a show and guaranteed it a fairly good run with great advance sales.

I came in late, so everyone's already expressed the anger and the outrage. What galls me the most is the smarmy way he says she'll bounce back. I'd rather he come out and attack her straightforwardly, than feign some mock sympathy (which she doesn't need anyway). "Poor baby, I'm sure she'll make a come-back somehow."
