I have contacted Adrienne Angel and have had plans to have a sample lesson and such with her, but my mom hasn't let me so far. She is worried that if it does go well that i'll be going into the city every weekend by bus alone probably, and she's not happy about that. maybe when i turn 17 she'll let me... i hope! but i was wondering maybe there are other voice teachers that Bernadette goes to that i don't know of... or maybe acting coaches?

From: Ohio | posted: 7/19/2004 at 11:39:49 PM ET HaHa...so funny anon! As far as I know she only works with Adrienne. I would really recommend that you go and have a lesson!! It will be worth your time. You've got to be real careful in the city though about finding a good teacher...most just want your money. If you're serious about finding a good teacher PM me and I'll give you a couple names.

From: Texas | posted: 7/20/2004 at 1:09:47 AM ET I've been trying to find a good musical theatre voice teacher in Texas. Anyone know of any good teachers that aren't TOO TOO expensive?

From: Maryland | posted: 7/20/2004 at 1:22:13 AM ET Ah. We all have the same problem, don't we? I've been looking in Maryland for someone just for the summer before I go back to school. But I don't live in a metropolitan part of MD so it's hard to find anyone who's decent.

Registered: 10/12/2001 | posted: 7/20/2004 at 11:43:12 AM ET I could reccommend quite a few fabulous voice teachers. Unfortunately, they all live in Minnesota! The best way to find a teacher is through word-of-mouth, preferably from former students... Most teachers are more than happy to just meet with you and give you a sort of "sample lesson." You also may want to try contacting universities and colleges in your area that have good music programs. Hope that maybe that provides some sort of help!

Registered: 5/3/2004 | posted: 7/20/2004 at 12:46:06 PM ET i know how it works. i've had many vocal coaches and such, but i recently left mine because i felt that she wasn't teaching me anything of use or helping me develop my voice more. She teaches at the Manhattan School of Music and her husband is the head of the vocal department.
Thanks for the advice on the colleges music programs and stuff... that could be really good.

You either got it, or you aint!
