So, I'm looking at recent photos of Bernadette (elegant, classy, bea-oootiful at the Tonys last night), and I see, again, on this site that TV guide cover with Bing Crosby ... and I gotta say, it just creeps me out. Bernadette's chubby calfs and that dress, geezonchristmasday, that dress, and that hair. She looks like her next gig will be on Lawrence Welk.
Reminds me of current TV ad: If little Jimi Hendrix had bought the Coke he would go into the accordian store on one side of the street; instead he crosses the street, buys the Pepsi and sees the electric guitar in another store and buys it. "Whew, that was a close one," or so the ad goes.

Long-winded, but that picture scares me.

LOL! Is it really that bad? Admittedly, it's not the most flattering picture, but I guess I don't react to it as strongly as you do. Bing Crosby was a very conservative man and his TV specials were always ultra-corny and old-fashioned. He probably insisted that his guests had to look like his idea of wholesome. But, yes, it's probably the least attractive picture of Bernadette I've seen.
