And I think we all know the answer to number 16 lol
Let me give some of you a hint for one question: Barbra Streisand was a Tony Awards "Star of the Decade", but never won a Tony Award for any official category She's still great though because she's gonna be Mrs. Focker in the "Meet the Parents" sequel! YAY! lol

Do the Tony Award people just make up a category when they feel like giving someone an award? I think Liza Minnelli has one of those honorary ones too, as well as her regular ones. And why was Streisand star of the decade? She's only appeared twice on Broadway, and reportedly hated it. Of course her two appearances were spectacular and historic, but still. Man, the Tonys can be so weird sometimes.

| posted: 6/5/2004 at 5:08:51 PM ET Chip, believe me, I could give you Barbra Streisand's entire life and career story without looking anything up. She definitely did not win for I Can Get It For You Wholesale.
She was nominated for Funny Girl, but also did not win for that.
I don't get the whole Star of the Decade thing either because they certinaly don't have it anymore. I think they gave it to her because in the one decade (the 1960's) She starred in both the Stage and Film versions of Funny Girl, as well as the film version of Hello, Dolly! I guess considering she was spreading the joy of musicals, they gave that to her. I think it was kind of dumb. I love Barbra, but I don't think she deserved that kind of award.
The Oscar she deserved; just too bad she tied with Katherine Hepburn that year. It must be weird to have to split a Best Actress Title with another actress. But hey, if it's gotta be someone, why not Hepburn.

Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 6/5/2004 at 5:45:26 PM ET I just checked, and the 1962 featured actress award went to Phyllis Newman for Subways Are For Sleeping. Probably because she had been around longer and the part was more substantial.

I did get #16 correct so hopefully I can keep my BP fan card and continue posting! As for the score...it was a sorry performance.

I've taken Broadway-related quizes and have gotten really bad scores before. Sometimes it just depends on the types of questions. No one should feel bad if they don't do well. It doesn't make anyone any less of a fan. I happened to have guessed on quite a few and just got lucky. Of course any one who posts here should get #16 correct. If not we will have to dismantal your membership. haha

Plus...I don't think that is *too* bad since I only started watching the Tonys two years ago...
