Just found this terrific article by John Dossett on Broadway.com It's a literal love letter to Bernadette. Here's the link:

This just confirms what I guess we all know:
one is that John Dossett is a sweet, sensitive, caring (good-looking) gentleman;

two is that Bernadette really IS as nice as every one says.

For some reason, I am all choked-up and it's not the pollen.

Thanks Elmo.

What class he has to be so gracious to her. They do perform so well together, she was right about him being a "Herbie". It will be sad when the relationships of the show end. Those of us who have been so honored to see them perform will remember it a lifetime!

He said that it wasn't "until the sitzprobe" before the orchestra that it hit him ......

what is the sitzprobe?

from an opera site --but I think it applies to theater as well:

"the first full musical rehearsal with artists on stage without staging, scenery, costumes or props"

Yes...they are usually done the week before you start previews and it's simply when you sing through the entire show from beginning to end(sometimes not) with just the orchestra and conductor.
