Great photos. When I was in my 20's & 30's I would have been happy to look half as good as she does now at 56!

There are also some good photos at Film Magic (page 3). http://www.filmmagic.com/
I couldn't get it directly linked as I have no computer-skill genes in my family.

Check out Anne Heche's hair -- it looked interesting (page 1)

About my previous post ...I'm stunned that it actually did direct link! I better apply for that job at Microsoft now.

Funny--I was thinking about the Tonys and what she might wear, and was going to start a new thread about that soon. But this is a good place. Thanks to anon for letting us know about this event.

So, is that a Donna Karan dress? I'd like to see her in something similar, although maybe not white, at the Tonys. I'd like to see the draping effects a bit better, but the construction of the dress is really great.

And she by far looks the best of them all. So classy and elegant.

I won't comment on some of other "fashions" because I know this was sort of a costume thing; also they all really do need to try to stand out somehow.

(Linking is a wonderful skill to have, I practice whenever I can.)

An excerpt from today's New York Times, which has a lengthy article on the exhibit, although doesn't mention last night's gala:

"A new exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art called ``Dangerous Liaisons: Fashion and Furniture in the 18th Century'' offers a glimpse of the era's elite in all their gilded glory.

Unlike most of the Met's fashion retrospectives that are housed in the downstairs Costume Institute space, ``Dangerous Liaisons'' is incorporated into the French period rooms known as The Wrightsman Galleries, creating a series of scenes that all share a common story of seduction through clothes, art and living space."

Hers's a link (!) to the gala, also NY Times:

nytimes.com gala

"The Costume Institute party, one of the most anticipated social events of the season, was only days away. But its mandate, to dress up in a version of 18th-century costume, left many of Manhattan's most soigné young style setters feeling slightly clueless. Hoping to stay faithful to the spirit of an evening billed by the museum as "all about the choreography of seduction and erotic play," some women rushed to their dressmakers. But with paniers and hoop skirts in short supply, others simply threw up their hands."

Don't forget Getty Images. My preference because you can enlarge the image.

Wow, she looks absolutely gorgeous! I absolutely love that dress!
Thanks for posting links everybody. Moljul, thanks to you especially...I can see her much better because Getty Images allows you to enlarge the pic. I couldn't see her quite as well on the other sites. Thanks a bunch!
