| posted: 4/25/2004 at 1:00:18 PM ET OMG! I am so livid right now its not even funny. I have Bernadette a Build-a-bear birthday bear for her birthday and while i was searching the gypsythemusical ebay items i saw this: sorry you have to copy and paste
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2366&item=3812054319
honestly, am i overreacting or is it unnerving that she is using MY gift to her and selling it for a charity? I just can't believe that she would do that! I mean, I took time and effort to buy and give her a gift and she just puts it up for auction! Anyways, i still support her and love her...its just really hurtful.

Be honored.
It's a gift that will keep on giving...

But it doesn't mean that she didn't appreciate it when she got it for her birthday. If the bear sells for a lot, I'd be happier that I helped the animals out.

From Internet Network: 134.126.30.x | posted: 4/25/2004 at 1:47:50 PM ET I took the time to write her a long fan letter that I hope she read and appreciated at the moment she read it. But I didn't expect her to keep it under her pillow. And I know, even if she signs it, she won't sell it on e-bay.
When giving a gift, IT IS THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS, right, Gypsy1527?
Buy the bear back. You'll give to Bernadette twice.

From Internet Network: 134.126.30.x | posted: 4/25/2004 at 2:11:18 PM ET I know the feeling when you give someone who is close to you a gift that you spent a lot of time coming up with, and it seems to mean much more to you than it does to them. It is a hurtful feeling.
But do not lose sight of this one fact:
Bernadette is a celebrity (a very nice one, yes, but still a celeb nonetheless). She is not a relative or your best friend.
You made a very nice gesture, which I'm sure she appreciated at the time. But she received at least two bears on her birthday just from two people on this site. Where would she put them all?

Imagine how many gifts, letters, cards, etc she must receive from fans and the fact that she cares enough about your gift to sign it and put it up for auction at a bid starting at $99 for the charity she holds dearest to her heart is pretty cool IMO.

| posted: 4/25/2004 at 2:51:57 PM ET If she kept every gift that fans gave her (never mind family and friends), she would have to own a huge storage lot just to have a place to put everything. At least she kept it as long as she did. Perhaps the bears have been in her dressing room this whole time, and now that the show is ending it is time to move on. It doesn't mean she doesn't appreciate them.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN. and i think these anonymous posters shouldn't be so snotty and sarcastic. MEOW.

Maybe the bear(s) she has up for auction are not the ones given to her by folks from this site. As mentioned by others she probably gets alot of stuff from alot of other people --- maybe even stuff she gets at appearances & events that she goes to -- stuff we don't even know about. Maybe it's something she herself contributed. BP is smart enough to know that "regifting" (as they say on Seinfeld)fan items on so public a site would not be to her interest. Just a couple of thoughts.
