I'm sorry I didn't post right away, I've been so busy and all!
Anyways, I had the most amazing time in NYC! I arrived in the city early Saturday morning and checked into the Marriot Marquis (I wanted to be as close to Shubert Alley as possible...lol), this hotel is simply marvelous! We had a room overlooking Times Square...I was completely thrilled! I attended a matinee of The Boy From Oz and all I can say is WOW! Hugh Jackman is absolutely wonderful in this show! If you get the chance to see it, I highly reccomend it! That night I also went to an off-Broadway show called De La Guarda. Again, all I can say is wow! This show is unlike any show I have ever seen....words simply cannot describe it! It was so much fun! Okay, moving on. Sunday I attended a matinee of Wicked. This show is brilliant in my opinion. Kristin and Idina were incredible, oh what voices! I thought the set and costumes were simply amazing as well....this show is a must see! After this show, (and I mean literally, right after) we ran to 42nd street to the New Amsterdam Theatre to see The Lion King. What a visual feast this show is! I was completely enthralled....absolutely spectacular! By the end of the evening my bum was feeling, well, a little numb to say the least as I had been sitting in the theatre for over 6 hours....but it was entirely worth it! Such a wonderful day
And now for the grand finale! Monday night came quickly upon me and I was sitting center orchestra in the Shubert Theatre. Words cannot describe the emotions I was going through at this point and time. A huge mixture of excitement, nervousness, and delight all intertwined. The show was wonderful! And Ms Peters was simply stunning! Rose's Turn was riveting, this woman is so talented, it never ceases to amaze me. Anyways, before I knew it I was backstage getting a tour of the theatre. I'll never forget standing in the middle of the stage and looking out into the audience (empty of course!), I get chills everytime i think about it! It was just so thrilling to be standing on the same stage where I had just seen the reigning queen of American musical theatre perform....words cannot describe. And then, there I was in her dressing room! I repeat, in her dressing room! Of course, I was very nervous. Ms. Peters was entirely gracious and polite. She made my friend and I feel very comfortable and told us to take off our coats and make ourselves feel at home. Now, I must say I was a bit tongue tied. And for me to actually be tongue tied is nothing short of a miracle. However, I eventually started to relax and was able to articulate! It all seems like a dream....so surreal. I wish I had been better able to express myself and how much I truly admire her. However, I think she must have had somewhat of an idea! Anways, the whole encounter was wonderful and I'll never forget it. I still cannot believe it! Like I've said before, it all seems like a dream.
I will be sure to post pictures as soon as I can!

Glad you had an incredible time Linnie!
