The Playbill article talks about Julie Andrews playing "Scarlett O'Hara." Carol Burnett's skit about Gone With the Wind and how she wore the curtain and curtain rods as her dress is still funny after all these years.

From: Toronto | posted: 12/8/2003 at 5:14:12 PM ET I always wondered how Bernadette felt about Carol Burnett. I assumed they were great friends. She had Bernadette on her show so many times! However, I have never heard Bernadette talk about it. Anyone got any more info?

I checked the clip but it seems they cut it down to put it in the archives because Bernadette isn't in it!
Thanx anyway though!

From Internet Network: 172.149.252.x | posted: 12/8/2003 at 7:08:18 PM ET apparently bernadette got stuck in the train down to DC, they had to send a car up to get her in delaware, and she got like an hour before the show taped. so she didn't get to rehearse her number at all and supposedly messed up a little! oops! the last i heard they were going to potentially re-tape her part right after the show ended. poor bernadette she was probably so tired to begin with and this was a lot of stress on her day off! what a trooper. i am sure she pulled it together and i can't wait to see it!

(I think that was the name, the one where she and Carol played the jingle writing team) in the early 90s, the Today Show did a behind-the-scenes segment on the show and interviewed the two of them together. Carol said that Bernadette was the first person they asked to be a guest on the original Carol Burnett show after seeing her in Dames at Sea. Bernadette said that after Dames she was kinda the 'in thing' or something like that but then she had a show that bombed [La Strada for any newbies out there] and nobody was hiring her, but that Carol was always there for her. Burnett then said something about careers going up and down but the talent fairy never leaving Bernadette.
Speaking of the Kennedy Center Honors. Does anyone else remember seeing Bernadette on the 1989 Kennedy Center Honors when she introduced and narrated the Mary Martin segment? It was one of the few times I thought she seemed kinda nervous.
