Yeah I heard it too..I can't recall where however..:-/..and i heard something about who will be starring in it as the phantom, but i can't remember it either. LOL sorry this info doesn't really help, but i just wanted to reply saying that I did hear something like that also, but I don't think it is a rumor.

Take care,
Stacy

From what I remember...

Gerard Butler will play the Phantom

Emmy Rossum will play Christine

Patrick Wilson as Raoul

Minnie Drive as Carlotta

Alan Cumming is going to be in it too, but I forgot who he is going to be playing.

Filming is set to begin in London in October of this year.

Frankly, I'll go see anything with Alan Cumming and Minnie Driver in it. They are wonderful! Just saw Minnie wonderful play a total bitch in the West End so she'll be a hit as Carlotta!

LOL I can't wait to see how this movie comes out, since I thought the sets and costumes were just great in the stage version! Although, I don't care much for the story...

Should be interesting to see what Joel Schumacher does with this movie.....

Oh, and I nearly forgot to mention... Jane Krajkowski's boyfriend is Charles Hart, the lyricist for Phantom. It would have been great to see her make some sort of apearence in the movie!

I hope he doesn't change it around too much. I would be really bummed if they turned it into a modern setting with modern costumes. I really like period movies and I don't think they make very many good ones anymore. The Importance of Being Earnest was awful in my opinion.

THERE ARE GIANTS IN THE SKY!!!!!!

Just to comment that INTO THE WOODS rocks my CD player. Our school just did a production, and I did orchestra pit. And "Giants in the Sky" is the best song in the score. "No More" "Noone Is Alone" run close seconds though Toodle-oo

I don't think there should be a movie of Phantom - it will be a disaster. Such a shame as the original London cast were fantastic. Phantom is a theatre production and should remain such. Also who could improve on Mr Crawford as Erik?
