From: Edinburgh, Scotland | posted: 5/8/2008 at 7:35:57 AM ET I was lucky enough to catch this amazing woman's last show of her seven week season at London's Menier Chocolate Factory last Sunday afternoon. My companion and I decided to eat in the theatre's restaurant just before the show and were delighted to find Maria running around in jeans and trainers, creeping up behind the diners she knew and surprising them. Such a lovely and so un-diva'ish lady. Interesting that, unlike other singers, she didn't feel the need to rest that astounding voice just before going on stage ... but once the show started she did ask all of us in the audience to join her in her vocal "warm-up" exercise. This consisted of us all singing "Fuzzy Duck, Ducky Fuzz" very quickly while going up and down the scale. Well, you can imagine ....
