The show is in phenomenal shape. Terra MacLeod (www.terracmacleod.com) is a solid Velma. Fabulous dancer, too. Anne L. Nathan is a great Mama -- she doesn't disappoint. Tracy Shayne (www.geocities.com/tracyshayne1) is a standout Roxie. She gives a superb performance. Tom Wopat is alright as Billy -- I've seen better and I've seen worse.
The ensemble is in fabulous shape with the standouts being Roxane Carrasco (www.roxanecarrasco.com), Dan LoBuono and Shawn Emamjomeh.
Enjoy yourself! :-D

From: New Jersey | posted: 12/16/2004 at 1:57:23 PM ET I saw it last month with Wayne Brady. He was good, but not as strong as I expected. I felt he really downplayed the role, especially since he gives 150% on Whose Line. I agree with ShubertGoddess, Terra was an excellent Velma. I really enjoyed her performance.
Curtain up! Light the lights! You got nothin' to hit but the heights!

We saw it with Tom Wopat as Billy and he was good. Unfortunately, the understudy was in for Roxie and she was aweful. I can't remember who she was but I know we were both dissappointed. If you've got a good cast, I am sure the show will be great...I think we just caught it on an off night.

From: NYC | posted: 12/17/2004 at 8:18:31 AM ET You probably saw Belle Calaway as Roxie.... I can't recall off the top of my head who was playing Roxie then, but if you saw the understudy, I'd be willing to bet money it was Belle.
You really thought she was horrible? I adore her... I've seen her as Roxie one too many times, but I adore her. Although I must admit that she makes a better Mama Morton.
As I said in my initial post, the current Roxie (Tracy Shayne) is phenomenal.... and she rarely ever misses a show. She had the crowd going Monday night and everyone was on their feet at curtain call.
Oh -- and if for some reason you should wind up seeing a Velma understudy, both Roxane Carrasco and Donna Marie Asbury are WONDERFUL. They both give amazing, chills up the spine, blow you out of your seat performance... so should you happen to see one of them going on as Velma, don't prepare for the worst
