Hello I'm 13 yrs old and I was just in the childrens ensemble of the Music Man. Jeff Goldblum and Ed Begley Jr. were both in it. Today was our last show and Im so glad. Can any of you people on broadway tell me how you don't get sick of a show after performing it so many times.

well, i haven't been on Broadway (i wish and hope). But, i can tell you that i have done a bunch of shows, and the way to keep it fresh and new is to find something in the character you play to portray every night slightly different. A character obviously has a lot of depth, just like any person in life. You create the role your own way, and you have to give the character a meaning to be everywhere all the time, and a reason for his/her lines and movements. Every show, i find it helpful to realize what I can do to affect a different emotion out of the audience from a certain movement/line/ or song and it definitely changes the performance.

The closest I ever came to any kind of Broadway schedule was 1776. We ran for 3 and a half months (8 times a week). It was during this whole War with Iraq and all and there was a lot of patriotism going on. We were only supposed to play for 11 performances.....and ended up doing a 3 month run, which was the most amazing experience of my life. It was very demanding, but like others have said, you just have to find something new in your character everytime.....and for me personally, i always convince myself that I AM that person, that the people on stage with me aren't my co stars, they are the people of the time as well.......it makes me really get into it
