From: Texas | posted: 7/11/2004 at 3:37:45 AM ET oooooooooo i so understand! You know i just feel honored to be being given the opportunity to be doing what I love. There is no need for bad attitudes. ya know. that frustrates me so.

From: washington, dc | posted: 7/12/2004 at 7:58:13 PM ET i think when people complain though it is mostly stress because if they didn't love what they were doing they wouldn't do it (unless they are a diva and have to complain about everything and then that is totally different).
damn, she's cool.

From: Texas | posted: 7/13/2004 at 10:52:12 AM ET yeah that's totally true - and beleive me I know a few divas ...ARGH! They want the royal treatment ALL the time. Oh well - I'm not longer in shows with them - so it's all good!

From: Ohio | posted: 7/14/2004 at 1:49:24 PM ET Let me tell ya...as most of you actors know...there are always a good share of divas. BUT fortunately in todays performing world they aren't pampering to them anymore. In a contract I had with a company a few years back there was actually a clause about being a diva(of course it was worded more professionally) but in general if there was any kind of bad attitude shown or fit thrown or anything like that in front of the company or around the company that was immediate grounds for being fired or replaced for several performances. Quite honestly most of the performers I have worked with really love what they're doing and don't fall into the category of diva. HOWEVER...since I am currently involved in primarily opera...let me tell you the DIVA list goes ON AND ON AND ON AND ON!!! LOL But that's even changing too in this medium because point being people do NOT want to work with someone who is tempermental(sp) and who demands more than what he or she is worth!
It's good to have security in yourself...but it's also necessary to have dignity and respect for everyone else. I had a friend who worked with actress Kathleen Turner a few years ago and he said that she was the PRIME example of someone who is very professional, knows what she's doing, yet isn't a diva. From everythign I've heard and encountered Bernadette is the same way.
"Take off your jacket!"--Joan Rivers to Bernadette
"TAKE OFF YOUR DRESS!!"--Bernadette's reply.

From: Texas | posted: 7/14/2004 at 2:57:37 PM ET Well when you are dealing with high school and even some college students you get into the whole DIVAness. But when I met Bernadette, and many others will agree with me, She was the FURTHEST from being a Diva. Bernadette is a genuine, pure, caring, considerate, and talented woman. I admire her so much. She knows what she's doing, what she wants, how to get it, is very professional, knows how to captivate an audience, and can be pure doing it all. She is professional and genuine and I Find that all very admirable.
