I think I just got something--is Barbara's former husband --David LeGrant--one of Bernadette's acting teachers?

It is a good article. You'll love seeing her. Barbara Cook is the only singer I rate on the same level as Bernadette.

I saw her in the small Terrace Theater at the Kennedy Center in the summer of 2002--she did her mostly Sondheim concert (not the right title but close) for the Sondheim Celebration. She was great, except that she talked about seeing Annie Get Your Gun and I got the distinct impression that she liked Reba better than Bernadette, although she was careful not to say it exactly like that.
In any event, she truly does wring meaning and emotion out of a song unlike most others except Bernadette.
