"Sondheim Sings Vol. 1
(PS Classics Inc. - new on CDs)
First in series of recordings utilizing demos of Sondheim singing songs he's written from 1946 to the present. This volume will cover the years 1962 to 1972 and will include material from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Anyone Can Whistle, Company, Follies and A Little Night Music, all digitally remastered. To include several early versions of songs that were revised after demos were recorded as well as cut songs. Apportioned proceeds to go to the Young Playwrights Festival, which Sondheim founded."
The original recordings of Sweeney Todd,Merrily We Roll Along,Into the Woods, and Sunday in the Park with George
will be rereleased with the additional tracks of Sondheim singing songs specific to those shows,including cut songs.
It looks like the Vol. 1 of Sondheim singing will be out May 10,and the OCRs May 17.
