I can't upload a new avatar--is anyone else having this problem or is is just me? I've tried 3 different ones.

I've never been able to upload one ever! I gave up after a while though. If you know how to fix it, that would be awesome.

well for me, I try to upload one, it then says that I have to wait for approval and it never happens.

for me, I upload and it takes about 2 minutes, then says it is uploaded, but when I click on the "see it here", there is nothing there.
I also yesterday and just earlier today, got a message about "corrupted cookies", so I cleared those.
Ah well, you guys are missing a lovely avatar of Bernadette in her yellow Spring dress!

Jean, Sometimes you just have to refresh your browser and you'll see it there. Maybe even totally "recycle" your computer.
Gypsy1527, You uploaded it properly and you just have to wait for Kevin, the webmaster, to approve it. He's a very busy guy so it might take a few days.
If either of you have problems, you can e-mail Kevin and he is great about getting back to you.
Jean, I had a problem with uploading a picture once so I just sent it as an attachment to Kevin and he got it up for me. I WANT to see Bernadette in her pretty yellow Spring dress!

Now this is really bizarre, I just uploaded a different picture and it uploaded in about 15 seconds, and when I looked at it, it's there. I conclude that the pictures I tried to upload are not.."uploadable".
I believe the technology has gotten the better of me and I shall retire now to have lunch.

This is the photo I was trying to upload--it's quite large, almost 5MB..a few others I tried were even larger, and I'm now convinced that was the problem. Anyway, you should recognize it, it's from Show People Magazine.

Yeah, big pictures are a problem. The thing is that the image has to be saved temporarily on the server and then shrunk down to avatar size. This temporary workspace isn't much space at all so it can be overrun quite easily with larger images.
I can always shrink them down for you and send 'em back so you can use it as an avatar, though.
