I was in a jazz lounge in Chicago having a martini with my boyfriend when Bernadette walked in. She had 2 gentlemen with her from the Goodman Theater, where she was performing the next night. I walked up, stuck out my hand and said "Miss Peters?" "yes.." she said. I said "I don't want to interrupt you so I apologize but I just want to say I love you work and hope you enjoy your stay here in Chicago." She asked me if I was in the local theater scene (i was but was shy to admit it) "No, I'm just a native Chicagoan who is proud of our city and I'm glad you're passing through." She said "Thank you very much!" big smile and then returned to her conversation. I'm sure she gets that all the time but I thought what the hell? I was never going to bump into her again I'm sure...By the way, she looks UNREAL for her age. Has she had plastic surgery? Does anyone know?

In an interview when asked about her skin/youthfulness, she stated, "I don't smoke, I don't drink much, I don't eat red meat, and I stay out of the sun."
