Hey! I was a Jr. in high school and I saw her live when she came to KS. I was so happy to see her and I GOT TO SEE HER BACKSTAGE AND GET A PIC, HER AUTOGRAPTH, AND I HUGGED HER!!!!! Well, I got 2 pics really, one of me hugging her and one of just me and her. it was the best time of my life!! When she sang "Children Will Listen", I almost started crying and the show was really what I needed since I told some people in one of my classes that I was going to go see her that night and they just laughed at me. (Yes, I was ready to killl them for making me so mad) I have been a fan of hers since I was 7 years old and I saw her in Into The Woods on PBS b/c my mom taped the show to show in her class at school--she is a drama teacher-- and I kept going back to the Witch whenever I saw it. I think it was b/c of what was going on in my life when I saw it-- I was being made fun of at school-- and when she sang "Princes wait there in the world it's true. Princes, yes, but wovles and humans too...stay a child whille you can be a child..." it just really made a whole lot of sense to me, even at that young age. I really connected with that chara in the show and that peformence has always stayed with me. I was 7 years old and I had the whole score down to ITW, with hand gesuers and influxuations too. Then when I got a little bit older, I started watching her on Animaneics as Rita--at the time I didn't know it was her thuogh-- and over the years I've fllowed up on her works and career. In high school I was known as *the* BP/Sondheim fan, and when the AGYG CD came out, I begged my mom to give it to me for my b=day and I have all of her albums she has ever done;as well as a lot of pics and articles about her too. I've even used her for school assignments back in high school and middle school.

Also, last summer, my mom was in a com. therater produncetion of ITW and I WENT NUTS!! The one who played the Witch was going crazy since I was SO obbessed with that part and I held her on such a high pedastal anyway... uh, I'll stop there on that topic, but anyway, if someone wants to e-mail me to talk about B'way, BP, Sondheim then by all means, do it!
