From: Alabama | posted: 11/12/2003 at 1:09:25 AM ET I thought I heard that Patti has another Sondheim revival in the works. I can't remember which one...possibly A Little Night Music. I believe she was origionally offered one of the roles but had to turn it down because she was about to do Sunset Blvd. I can't be too sure though, my memory is a little shady.

I think that Megan Mullaly would also be a wonderful choice. Someone who hasn't been mentioned that I think could possibly do a short run with the show would be Patty Duke.

Here is one of my choices, Bebe Neuwirth. She can definately sing it... she is another sexy woman in her "Late thirties" and I think she'd be fun to see in an acting role rather than a dancing role.

From: northern VA | posted: 11/12/2003 at 7:06:40 PM ET Patti LuPone played Desiree in the Ravina Festival's concert performance of A Little Night Music in 2002 (and played Fosca this past August in Ravina's production of Passion-with Audra McDonald as Clara). I don't know of any plans to bring it to Broadway.

From: Alabama | posted: 11/12/2003 at 10:15:44 PM ET Maybe it was Ravina that she was asked to play in the origional and had to turn it down. There was some Sondheim revival that she was discussing for the future. I thought she was great as Mrs. Lovett, she really impressed me.

I'm also very pleased to hear that Gypsy will be playing until September. This means I can see it during this summer Bernadette or not.

| posted: 11/18/2003 at 6:51:35 PM ET Well I don't mean to wish any ill-will but just because John Dossett has agreed to stay with the production until September does not mean it will necessarily stay open until that time. If Bernadette leaves before then and they can't find a suitable replacement they will either close it or business might be so bad that they are forced to close it. Even now Gypsy is only running in the 70s percent. I would think as long as Bernadette stays with it that it will remain open. But you never know. After the holidays is a very lean time for Broadway and a lot of shows are forced to close.
Here's hoping ticket sales pick up and they stay in there for a long run.

She's a trouper!
