When Bernadette was on The View a few weeks ago she said that she lost her voice when she had her nails done. Did she miss any previews or did her voice come back right before they started?

You must be a new fan to Ms. Peters. I saw the April 19th preview performance and her voice was noticebly hoarse and she was sniffling a lot (I felt so bad for her!!). Anyway, before the show opened she took at least a week off from the show, I don't recall the exact number.

Actually she only took 4 performances off during previews. She had caught a respiratory infection from the woman at the nail salon. (I don't think that was very clear from The View interview). She played the role while very sick but finally had to take some days off to try to get better. Unfortunatley Tony nominators were coming to the show about that time so she could only take the 4 performances off. She obviously came back too soon because a little more than a week later she was sick again and had to take a few more performances off immediately after opening night on May 1st.

Thanks, I am a new fan. I saw Gypsy in August but it was the night of the blackout so I don't remember it as much I would like to and am trying to find out as much about it as I can.
