has he died? is that why she dedicated edelweis to him? was it emotional for her?

Yes, he died in October 1999, I think. I know it was during the first year of AGYG. He was quite ill for some time.

aaw. I saw her on the 1999 tonys and the way she was talking, i think her mother has died too. poor bernadette.

Hello,
I think I read somewhere (I think it was on that one BP site, 'Bernadette Thinks We're Blubbering Idiots') that her mother passed away back in '89. -correct?

Actually I believe her mother died from cancer in '82. Her father was 90 years old at the time of his death so he had a nice long life.

god, thats awful. she couldn't have been that old. bernadette has a brother and a sister hasn't she? how old are they? do they have kids? were they at radio city? I've so many questions!!!!!!!!!!

Her sister is about 9 years older than BP and her brother is about 4 or 5 years older, I think. Her sister has a son, Tian who has a rather successful local band and her brother has two daughters, I believe. I know her sister was at the concert and I'm assuming her brother was too.

I think she mentioned her brother and sister at the concert when she was talking about first hearing rodgers and hammerstein music. She said something about how her brother and sister were probably crying now so I guess that means they were both there. That's nice that they have kids so she has nieces and nephews. She should have had children it seems like she'd make a great mom. I wonder why she didn't?

Can you even FATHOM (sp?) being related to Bernadette Peters! I would soil myself everyday knowing that at any time I felt like it, I could call up my Aunt Bernadette and talk to her! ;-)

Bernadette's sister Donna was definately at the RCMH concert because I saw her ther. I dont know if Joseph was there or not. Bernadette's mom died when Bernadette was around the age of 30. Bernadette never had children because she got married in 1996 and by that time she was already 48 years old.

do they look like her? does anyone know where I can see a picture of them, i'm just curious. i like spotting family resemblences ( probably haven't spelt that right). I'd love to be related to her or just know her.

Here is a link to a picture of Bernadette and her sister after the Radio City concert. The picture is not IMHO that flattering to Donna who I have seen look much cuter. She's little like Bernadette.

What was it.. the Bravo channel? They did a very complete biography of her a year or so ago that had pictures of her family. "Inside The Actor's Studio" with James Lipton.
