hi...ok, so i was just checking out some other broadway message boards. a lot of them can be a bit...rude and mean and condesending. if you know what i mean. anyway, i just wanted to let ya'll know that ya'll are great and i am so happy i have you guys to "chat" with everyday. lets keep this board as great as it is.  i just wanted to let ya'll know i appreciate (and i am sure everyone else does) how respectful and kind everyone here is. just a thought. also, it is really nice for those of us who live miles away from New York to have some "theatre people" to talk with and share information with...without feeling like an idiot for asking questions or not knowing something.

I know what you mean. Some people can be really nasty on other boards, but this one and one other one (won't mention which one it is for fear of being shot lol) have awesome people on it. You guys are so great I love you all!!!!!

Same here. But on the broadwayworld.com message board, I accidentally said "soundtrack" instead of "cast recording" and they wouldn't let me forget it! Also, they make you feel bad about you're opinions, IMAO. Not everyone, but certain people on that board (and not you Christine lol)

Yeah, some of them can be brutal at times. And about dumb things, like spelling.
But let's not forget, some people on this board made a big deal about the difference between a soundtrack and a cast recording a few months back. I think that's everywhere when it comes to theatre fans.
I said soundtrack on that board one time, but I apologized before they could say anything. They tend to not argue with me over there because I'm one of the higher-ranked posters I guess? I dunno 
Either way, they're a fun group.

LOL You'll have to study the differences so you don't get caught again.
Now, Soundtrack is to movie as Cast Recording is to Broadway Show. But, there are exceptions to the rule; such as Original Cast Recordings as opposed to New Cast Recordings, also London Cast Recordings and Off-Broadway Shows. And occasionally there are concert versions of certain shows. Ex: Sweeney Todd, Les Miserables, and Anyone Can Whistle.

Hey Hollywoodsweetie! I'm the one who defended you on the board the other night. They are really rude! The people on that board who don't like Bernadette like really obscure things. What about the person who said Les Mis was horrible? I'm also the one who did the list of what Bernadette has done between Mack and Mabel and Annie Get Your Gun. How dare they say she was horrible! I mean she won a Tony and plenty of drama desks during that time! What are these crazies thinking? I love you guys so much, you never make me feel stupid!!
