Hi-
Some one briefly asked this on an earlier post, but I will ask it again  . Do "we" know if there is going to be a cd signing of Gypsy (ofcourse) when it is released on 8/19? If this is going to be so, I'm sure it will be at Virgin Records (most likley). Hopefuly we will find out soon! Have a great day!

ps-I now have my license so I can drive myself to the store to buy the cd when it arrives! YAY!!

Well, if there is a signing, Virgin Megastore has some kind of rule where you have to have bought the CD in their store and have the receit to prove it. At least that's how it was for the signings I've been to.

I wish there is a cd signing. I went to the one last year for her last cd, and it wasn't too bad! There has to be one!!!!

I think it all depends on how badly the producers, backers, Angel Records and the Shubert feel they need to push the show. Since it's doing relatively well now, I doubt they'll have a signing.
Also, the last signing Bernadette did was for her solo album, Be My Baby Tonight, right? It wasn't for Annie Get Your Gun, was it? Usually (as far as I know) there's a better chance of a signing when the album is solo.

Actually, Bernadette did do a signing for Annie Get Your Gun as well as her recent album. I don't think the reason for doing a signing is soley for publicity. When AGYG opened, they were playing to almost packed houses every night. The producers definitely do it to get the show's name out there, but more importantly, I think (And I might be incorrect) that they do it for the fans to get a chance to meet and converse with some big stars that they know they know and love.

So it WAS for AGYG? Wow. My apologies for not being clear: I just meant it might be harder to do a signing for a cast album, given that it's a compilation. Were all the other cast members there or was it just Bernadette?

I believe it was Bernadette and Tom Wopat. Signings are pretty much the norm now. Every show has done them regardless of their box office business. I would be VERY surprised if there is no signing for Gypsy.

When the New Cast Recording of Nine came out a few weeks ago the entire cast was at Virgin for the signing. Antonio, Jane, Chita, everyone. So even if it's just Bernadette, John, and Tammy at the signing there will most likely be one. We just don't know when yet?
And yes, there was one for AGYG as well as Bernadette's R&H CD.

Are they, seriously? I suppose when you live further out you just don't hear if/when the signings are done. I had no idea. Does every show do this, or just the ones with the big names?

I was just on Bernadette's official site and under "Current Information" "Currently Appearing" Aug. 19th is listed for the release of the CD and underneath it says signing. No date though.

Don't you think the signing would be sometime that week? I remember the "Bernadette Peters Loves R&H" signing was that Friday, and the cd was released on a Tuesday...

Well, the best day for the cast would probably be Sunday, right? I forget which day of the week the 19th is... I believe it's a tuesday. Do they often do signings on the same day as the release of the CD, or do they wait a week or two? Or maybe there's no pattern at all. lol.
