What it needs is the photo of Bernadette in the purple dress, during Rose's Turn. Has anyone seen this poster for sale? Thanks!!!

The only place I have seen that poster was in the huge 1-page ad in the New York times.
Has anyone noticed, though, how the "look" for the show has gone from a solid black color to more purples and pinks? (Like in the handbills that are given out and the marquee itself on the theatre?) With this recent makeover, I wouldn't be surprised to see a new Gypsy poster come out soon.

From Internet Network: 134.126.30.x | posted: 7/22/2003 at 3:19:55 PM ET I bought a poster and had it framed. Her name and the logo look fine on the black, but unless the light is just right and you are standing only a few feet away, you can't see, much less read, the small, red "Curtain Up, Light the Lights." A lot of wasted space, and I don't think dramatic.
I had to have it, though; "Gypsy" was my first Broadway musical seen ON Broadway. (The GYPSY logo on the black T-shirt, however, looks great. Got one of those, too.)
I think the soft purple one with the lights framing it and Ms. Peters in "Rose's Turn" now on the Web site would be a terrific poster (and look dynamite on my wall). Better yet (tho it would have to be horizontal, and I don't know that that's kosher with these theater posters), would be the one that's outside the Shubert – with BP in the middle and four scenes from the show around her. That would be memorable (tho probably too busy for that size poster).
I saw the show again on the 12th, and noticed that the Playbill cover carried the GYPSY logo in black-and-white. Could have been a printer's mistake or quickie job, but my guess was that they needed only so many more copies of the Playbill before a new cover (and poster?) is issued, perhaps tied into the publication of a souvenir book and the cast recording (is that the CD cover on the Web site? hmmm). Will see the show again for the third and fourth time in a couple of weeks. I'm really hoping the souvenir book will be for sale by then (gotta get IT signed!!).

Registered: 3/10/2001 | posted: 7/22/2003 at 6:32:25 PM ET Pretty much all show's Playbills are printed in color until a few months into the run when they are then printed in black and white.

Registered: 6/25/2003 | posted: 7/22/2003 at 9:56:22 PM ET I'm not an expert or anything, but I think it's because color is more expensive to print and they like to keep everything vibrant and colorful until the show has been running for awhile.

Registered: 6/9/2003 | posted: 7/23/2003 at 2:30:47 PM ET The New Yorker which came in the mail yesterday has a full page ad for GYPSY with the purple motif, and Peters in the Rose's Turn stance.
