Yes, for once I actually SAW Bernadette on TV (no laughing, you know EXACTLY who you are)..I set my alarm and everything so I wouldn't miss, though I was sick all night! Anyway, in NO WAY criticizing Bernadette, but does anyone know FOR SURE if she did in fact mess up her lyrics...I have been everywhere checking on it and most poeple are saying she did, and she was tearing up at the end because of it! I, however, will always give Bernadette the benefit of the doubt and I believe that, just like on Rosie, the lyrics were changed to be more effective...ya know how she dropped a few lines from "Nothing Like a Dame" and all....however, if anyone knows for certain, please let me know! Sorry so long! Thanx!!!!!!!

Time heals everything....

I really don't think that a seasoned performer would tear up because of a mistake. More than likely, the song happened to hit an emotional chord for her today... just shows that she is really connected with what she is singing.

I have no clue about whether the lyrics were actually changed, tho

I am in agreement with you...Bernadette has been so successful in her lifetime that a little mistake, if it even was a mistake, would hopefully not phase her. Of course i taped it so I am going to go back and watch it again, if you can watch again, after the first part of the song where she repeats "moment of trth", suring the bridge she kind of sighs...it may just be random breathing but others are saying it sounds frustrated...I don't know though but no matter what Bernadette Forever!!!!!

Time heals everything....

She also seemed to have shaken her head when she repeated "moment of truth" as if she didn't mean to say it, but then why would she keep doing it, or for that matter not at least end the song with "something good" ?
So maybe it was on purpose (I don't know), bur it was the first thi ngI thought about.

Why would Bernadette cry over wrong lyrics? LOL! And no, I can assure you the words were perfect. They changed the order a little in order to make it fit, but she did not mess up. I am sure she cried because, like most singers, the words touched her.
Always,
Maria
