They are releasing a Stephen Sondheim DVD box set in September. It will have Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Passion, Follies in Concert, Sweeney Todd in Concert, and 1992 Carnegie Hall Celebration. It lists for 119.99 so start saving your pennies! I wish they would make a DVD of the Angela Lansbury Sweeney Todd. I have the video (it is starting to show it's age) and I would love to replace it with the DVD. What a performance!

OHHHHH GGRRRR... there's some stuff in there I'd want that I don't have yet, but I already own Into the Woods and Sunday in the Park With George. Which makes buying the collection out of the question. Argh. You know what this is like? This is like when I bought the Monty Python and the Holy Grail DVD and a month later, they came out with the special edition. Very frustrating.

Also, the Lincoln Center "A Little Night Music" that was taped for PBS about 10 years ago. (Incidentally, Maureen Moore played Charlotte in that production.)

It's times like these that I'm glad I didn't get the ITTW or SITPWG DVD's.

Registered: 6/9/2003 | posted: 7/18/2003 at 8:26:04 PM ET Unfortunately, they never did release a video of "Night Music." It did air on PBS. I taped it, but in a move several years ago, the tape vanished. I've always thought it would be a great addition to Broadway Theatre Archive.
