This has nothing to do with Bernadette, but I saw "The Prince and the Pauper" this evening (it's off-broadway on 44th street) and it is an absolutely wonderful show.
Rob Evan plays the lead adult in the show (he was Jekyl and Hyde) along with Rita Harvey and Stephen Zinnato (Guiding Light).
The main roles are played by two young boys (Gerard Canonico...he sang with Bernadette at a benefit concert) and Dennis Michael Hall. They carry the show like pros; and as their young leading lady is the very talented Allison Fischer (I don't think she's more than 12 years old, but she can hit a high note like you can't imagine).
As for the theatre, it is a comforting atmosphere with spectacular views from every seat; and the set is beautifly designed so as to include the entire theatre.....the audience is almost in the story.
As for the cast as a whole (there are only 12 people total), they play about 5 characters each.....which is not confusing at all, but makes the show that much more memorable for its variety of characters.
I hope you guys will go see the show if you get a chance....it's at the Lamb theatre, 44th street....and the tickets range from $40-$55, but there are certain discounts.
