Blimey limey!!! Anyone whose seen the Longest yard/ mean machine will understand what a I mean - HOW BIG IS HER HAIR?!!!
Is it really hers? How did they get is so...so..BIG?!

LOL! I know what you mean. But go check out pictures from Bern's turn in Song and Dance. Also, her nominated performance in 'Sunday in the Park With George." Talk about big hair. And when I say big, I'm talking the scene when Dot gets ready to go to the folies, and sings her "Folies girl dance" song. On the commentary track, Mandy Patinkin, Bern, and Steve Sondheim (and I believe one more person -- I forget who) are all howling with laughter at Bernadette because she looks so funny doing the dance without words (they watched it silent.) And then, about 1/4 of the way through, Sondheim whistles and says, "my God, look at all that hair. And she's still got all that hair." And Bernadette laughs and says, "Yes, well, I did it myself." 
(The above not be EXACTLY word for word, but that's pretty much what they say.)

James Lapine, the author and director was the 4th person.
I think the whole "Look at all that hair" think also got started because all the guys were making comments that they no longer had the amount of hair they had when they did Sunday. LOL But Bernadette still had all of her hair intact. At least Mandy said something along those lines.
The follie girl dance sequence in silence was pretty funny. I also thought it was so cute when during the second act, right before Children and Art, the camera gets a shot of Bernadette (as Marie) sitting in her wheelchair and looking longingly at the painting. It's a close up of her face. And at least James Lapine if not Mandy Patinkin just spontaneously went "Awwww".

Laugh if you will, but it was the 70's and 80's. Big hair was the style. Even some styles from the 90's, I look back at old photos of myself and wonder what I was thinking! LOL
By the way, I've said this before, The Longest Yard....just not even a good movie LOL
