Don't you guys think you're getting a little too carried away with this(ok...a lot!). This wasn't the TONYS, it was a Playbill.com poll. Something I'm sure Bernadette would probably never had heard about if she had won(fairly). I'm sure you guys would probably be pretty pissed if it was a Marrissa fan who tampered with the poll....

Like it or not...in some ways a performers fans represent them when it comes to this buiness. How do you think this makes her look now?? Because you know someone on ATC is going to come up with some cheap shot to link this to her.

I never really took it "that" seriously. It was all in good fun. Obviously people were going to notice that it was Bernadette's fans voting over and over again (or should I say...one particular fan)...if not by looking at the number of votes, then certainly by reading this thread.

I just think we all look incredibely foolish now; but it was still fun.
there is a poll on
www.broadwayworld.com
But I believe you can only vote once...and if you go, please only do vote once (I did), even if you can vote more than that. I don't want to see that get screwed up too.

" I was just trying to be a good FAN"

In hind site I can see that we went too far. It was not like there was only one person voting. There were a bunch of us and we were all doing it with the best intentions from our heart as fans. Although after a while I admit that is was fun working with everyone to get the votes higher.

I do think that Playbill should point out that it was not only Bernadette Peters fans who were tampering. When we were all voting there were times where we would start to loose and could tell that MJW's fans were voting like crazy too.

I am very sorry that we went too far but I am not sorry that we did it in the first place. As long as our hearts were in the right place I doubt that anyone will be mad at us. If were trying to hurt someone or be malicious, that would be different, but we were just voting for someone we believed in.

Am I wrong?

It was mildly amusing for a time so who cares. Playbill will survive, the Tonys will still be voted on without any impact, etc. In other words, life goes on.

Maybe Playbill will rethink their polling process if they are so worried about the results being scientific.

god, if it matters so little why couldn't we have mucked about with it?! like you said cindy, it was only a web site poll - not the actual tonys so who cares?! I don't!
If MJW's fans had started trying to out vote us, we'd have just voted back...it was only a game.
I'm not going to be "told off" about tampering with poll results that don't count for ANYTHING!!

they say bernadette's wonderful..........and she is

Well, I think its no big secret that the fans of Marissa were voting like crazy too.It probably happens pretty often with their polls...that's not the problem they had with it. Someone TAMPERED with the poll..tht's why it was shut down.

Right! I mean, Playbill knows that people vote more than once, but doing something to keep your computer constantly voting (even when you aren't on playbill.com) is what they meant by tamporing.

It doesn't matter to me either way, but I just wonder what the final result would have been.
