I recently read that BP vowed never to visit any busy nail salons. Apparently she went into one in New York once and a woman sat down next to her and started coughing. She then developed a throat infection and missed several performances.

Is this true? Has anyone else heard it?

The great cold of 2003 was caught by just such an encounter at a nail salon prior to Gypsy's opening night, and caused Ms. Peters to miss several performances.

I think she's finally gotten over that cold. But it took her ages to summon up the courage to go back into the nail salons of New York. I'm told the final push was when a fan took one look at those diva talons and mistook her for Barbra Streisand.

happened in the salons of downtown houston...

i mean without the whole starring in gypsy part.
