Act 2 started with the chorus singing There's no Business Like Show Business, Everything's Coming Up Roses and Broadway Baby. Bernadette came out and finished up Broadway Baby. She also sang Some Enchanted Evening, Nothing Like a Dame, Fever, You Could Drive a Person Crazy, No One is Alone and Kramer's Song as an encore. I met her afterwards and she was very sweet.

| posted: 6/1/2008 at 2:03:51 PM ET I went to the afternoon show and it was pretty good. It seemed they were having some sound issues though, I hope they got them resolved by the evening show. Bernadette was, as always, the consummate professional. At one point while singing "There Is Nothing Like a Dame" she got one of those "danglies" on her dress wrapped around the microphone stand or something (I think, it happened so quickly I'm not sure exactly what happened) and she just kinda reached back and steadied the stand to keep it from falling over without missing a beat or anything. She did a couple extra songs that weren't listed in the program, which was nice (and made a comment that she was doing too many songs for a guest.)
I enjoyed the choir too, it was more "staged" than I had expected, which was nice, it was almost like musical theatre.
The only downside is I didn't get to meet her, but I kind of expected that since it was the afternoon show and she seems to stay inside between shows. Oh well, I still have one more chance in August.

| posted: 6/1/2008 at 7:36:15 PM ET Where did you go to meet her after the show yesterday???? I went to the afternoon performance too, but I had horrible blisters on my heels from these ghastly shoes I wore, so I just went home. I didn't think she would be signing autographs, since she had the evening performance to do. Oh well, I'm going to the book signing tomorrow, and I can tell her then how much I enjoyed the show.
I was crying when she sang "No One Is Alone", and during "Kramer's Song". They are both such beautiful songs....I also cried when the choir sang "Nessum Dorma". That is my very favourite piece of opera...Puccini was a genius!!! I wish she would have sung that with the choir!!!! She can sing opera too....and I was disappointed that she didn't sing "Everything's Coming Up Roses" with the choir, but oh well....she was FABULOUS!!!
I love when she asked everyone if they liked her dress, lol!!! And when she sang "Fever", all the men were whistling, hahahaha!!! Oh, when she said that she's known Marvin Laird since she was 13, and that was 14 years ago, I was so excited, because I am 27.....though I only celebrate annual 21st birthdays...I'm in denial about aging too. As long as people tell me I look like I'm still in high school, why not?

| posted: 6/4/2008 at 4:10:21 AM ET It had its good and bad points. When she sang "Fever" during the afternoon performance, I shouted out "You Go Girl", lol. Hey, if you've got it, flaunt it! I hope I can still flaunt the junk in my front when I'm 60!
