Last night, it was on in the UK. It was great apart from the Griff Rhys Jones interludes - what was he doing?! Very strange indeed. Anyway, of course I recorded it even if Bernadette only spoke for less than a minute in all, but thats fanship! When she spoke about Marilyn Monroe my mum came in shouting "Bernadettes on telly, Bernadettes on telly!, Jen, are you watching? are you watching, Jen?"! So I didn't hear a word she said, but I have recorded it. Oh and just a quick extra question here, I don't want to spark arguments but when I've shown bp to my friends (I always ask them how old they think she is before I tell them - they always say late 20s/30s!) then I say shes 54 they always say she must have had surgery to look that good and I always say "No way, shes just really healthy and plus - shes hasn't had kids (my mum says thats why she looks so young!)". I'm right aren't I? she hasn't had any cosmetic surgery? I'm 99.9% sure I'm correct in thinking this, but I just want confirmation.

On another fan board a few years ago, another fan from England posted an article that ran in a London paper (I think around the time of her London concert) quoting Bernadette as saying she has had a few "nips and tucks". So perhaps she has had some but probably not a lot or anything major from her response. I agree that the majority of the credit for how wonderful she looks is because she takes such good care of herself. Cometic surgery can only do so much for you. And you can't get and keep her wonderful complexion with surgery. So however she does it is fine with me and I hope I look half as good when I reach her age.

Well, shes is and always has been I think, naturally beautiful. I just wanted to know if I was right in what I've said to my friends. I'd hate for them to catch me out on something I'd missed about her. I pride myself in being a devoted fan.

Well I would say you are kind of right then. By looking at her and past pictures, she might have had a little eye work done but its pretty easy to tell she has never had a complete face lift because her face moves very naturally when she smiles, etc. I would say most of her wonderful youthful looks come from good Italian genes.
