I was wandering around the internet yesterday and came across a list on broadway world.com where various people were asked to name the most romantic Broadway song. Bob Mackie's choice was "What'll I do" and he mentioned that Bernadette Peters sang it.
I had never known that before. Do you guys know anything about her performing that song?

hey, isn't that song on the diet coke commercials? oh my god bernadette sounds incredible. she can sing the heck out of that song, they should use her voice on more commercials.

Listen to the Diet Coke commercial again. That incredible, beautiful voice you mentioned is clearly Judy Garland, taken from an episode of her series. It is quite a stunning performance.

[I remember Bernadette singing this song in the 70's and it carried me along making me also cry at the end with her, feeling the pain that emulated from her. I was so impressed with her ability to make me feel such that I became from that day on, a fan of hers forever. It was so moving that I've never forgotten it over all these years and I also have tried to find a recording of her singing it... sadly to no avail.]
