I hereby nominate him as "Honorary Fanadette of 2006" for all the lovely, positive articles that he's written about her and, basically, for also keeping her in view, even when she's not on Broadway.

Kristin Chenoweth
Company
Dreamgirls
Christine Ebersole and Mary Louis Wilson
Foster and Leavel
Rebecca Luker
Gay Marshall
Bernadette Peters
Spring Awakening
Barbra Streisand
I agree with everything except for Luker who I felt brought nothing to the role of Mrs. Banks compared to Linzi Hatley (sp?) from the original london cast.

"Bernadette Peters, NAC, April 27 - 4 out of 5
Now for something entirely different but just as juicy. The National Arts Centre has its own Broadway series. But in April, you could practically smell the cigars and popcorn of 42nd St. as Broadway icon Bernadette Peters performed a solo concert with the NACO Pops in April. The seemingly ageless 58-year-old wonder was in full voice, belting out many of her signature Sondheim numbers No One Is Alone, Not a Day Goes By and Children Will Listen and other classics including Fever and My Romance that blended high style and tear-swelling vulnerability to prove that Peters can make virtually any musical sound and feel better.
