"A close second is the bravura performance by Bernadette Peters with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra in Miller Auditorium at Western Michigan University. Whether those in the audience were aware or not, Peters had recently lost her husband in a helicopter crash and much of her program, which included show tunes like "Time Heals Everything," took on a definite double meaning. I don't know how she got through it, but a close friend of hers told me later that she knew it was what her husband would have wanted. A really classy lady."
