Hi All - Just wanted to mention that Regis and Kelly brought up Michael again this morning. I missed the first words, but I think Regis went to the memorial. He was saying that somebody told the story about Michael chasing down the mugger. Kelly brought up how much Bernadette loved Michael and they talked about the famous meeting again.

Sister Rose, I have not heard that story about the mugger. Could you tell it, please? Thank you.

Oh, they had the memorial already. It just makes me so sad again...

I never heard that story either?

Yeah, a friend of mine told me the memorial was yesterday. I thought it was odd because the Catholic Church (although I don't know if Michael was even Catholic) will not bury anyone on a Sunday; but apparently he was cremated.

I believe Michael was Jewish - at least his surname is. I think the mugger story is that he chased down a guy who robbed a wallet or purse and when he knocked him down, he took the mugger's wallet. Maybe Jean, Moljul or Karen know more about it.

What else did Regis say about the memorial? I wish I had seen it.

No, I had never heard that mugger story before, sorry.

Regis just said that he went to the memorial last night, and they talked about Michael, how he learned foreign languages and then Regis said something about him being "adventurous" (may not be exactly right). Then he said they told the story of when a mugger tried to hold Michael up, Michael hit him, did some karate (not sure if that's it), and then ran after the mugger when he ran away, and took his wallet. Something about "mugger to the stars". Then both he and Kelly told the story about how they first met.

Regis said that he and Joy talked to Bernadette for a few minutes.

He did not say where the memorial took place, who else was there, or whether there was any kind of religious ceremony. He also did not say anything at all about how Bernadette is.

The conversation lasted about 3 minutes.

Michael was Jewish and I don't think Bernadette has considered herself a Catholic (or at least not a practicing one) for a long, long time. They were married by a Justice of the Peace.
