Her friends decided to make personalized awareness bracelets, much like those of Lance Armstrong's Live Strong. I am going to work with one of the companies who custom designs them. I wanted everyone's opinion before I do this. Is this a good idea? What color should they be? (I was thinking black because it is the symbol of mourning) What should the inscription be?
It will be most like 4-6 weeks before I get the shipment in, but once I receive them, I will sell them to whoever wants one and 100% of the funds will go to those three charities in his name.
Let me know what you guys think.

I'm not completely knocking the idea, because I had considered getting some made a few different times for charities.
I just think it would be better to send money directly to the charities without getting anything in return.
If you think about it, it does cost money to make the bracelets...say 50 cents per bracelet, and you charge $1.
Only half of the money goes to the charities...unless you pay out of pocket and send ALL procedes (as you said); but then you would be spending so much money.
Also, this situation is different than a drunk driver.
I think we should respect Bernadette's wishes and simply send money directly to the charities in honor of her husband.
