Much $ was spent. Gotta go get ready for the Katrina benefit now - my friend Todd who is understudy in Spelling Bee said it will be 4 hours tonight.

I was there from 10:30 to 12.
I was on a mission to find the "Carols For A Cure" CDs from 2003 and 2004, but I couldn't find them. I kept getting sent to different tables. I was so confused. lol
I did buy a couple of things though.
I hope you enjoy(ed) the concert. I wish I could have been there tonight; though I did have fun at the wedding I went to.

From: NYC | posted: 9/26/2005 at 1:06:36 AM ET Oooh missed seeing you Christine. We ran into our crazy friends from Peekskill who also worked at Broadway Barks and also saw Gypsy1527 who shared with us the most fabulous Gypsy postcards. Mandy, Ashley and I had fun day. Mandy and I had a wonderful conversation with Julie Halston - she said that Kate is back from the Cape and had a good run in "Bug". They are planning a little Gypsy reunion and she laughed at our purely coincidental discovery of the reuion we stumbled onto at Angus McIndoe last year. We also spent a lot of money on fabulous treasures and I got the "On the Town" revival playbill and a wonderful playbill from "The King and I" from 1977 when Angela Lansbury was in it for about 6 monthes while Yul Brenner was on vacation (since Yul was out the producers was another big name for the box office so instead of bringing in an big name actor for Yul, they brought in Angie). Her picture is on it too - very rare. Some playbills for sale were amazing - only 25 cents a piece too!
The Katrina benefit was beyond great. I'll let you rely on the Broadway World report for all of the info. Bernadette looked great in a simple black form fitting short dress. She sang a fairly different rendition of "No One is a Alone". It was slower and she changed the phrasing on it. Her voice sounded good but I wasn't crazy about the change up. Phylis Neuman came out after Bernadette to talk about charity in the Broadway community and made a very funny comment about "and who was that pretty girl with the curly hair who was just singing? I think she has great future on the stage in store for her" (or something like that.
It was a fun evening and it sounds like maybe close to $250,000 was raised for Hurricane Katrina victims.

I'd noticed it online prior to the flea market and saw the bidding started at $1000. It was a great package...I think a week in Aspen for 6 people (travel included) with an additional autographed poster from Broadway Barks 7.
"Let's admit one thing right upfront: With the possible exception of Bernadette Peters, not everyone stays young and cute forever." (NYPost 2/2/05)

From: New York City | posted: 9/27/2005 at 4:31:43 PM ET I actually know the answer to this! The final bid amount was $4000. I believe the item sold to a BC/EFA staff member.
