I only watched the "chat" portion so far on the tiny monitor and I was laughing hysterically outside of ABC. I tried to get the cameraman to put me on tv but he said he didn't have orders to turn on the camera. Anyway, both stories about Kramer and the books were hysterical. She was very "on" this morning!

...and poor Patty...you know she was the "friend" who had to go back to the bookstore to return the "stolen" books

That's one dedicated personal assistant!

LOL I like how oblivious I am at times. It didn't even cross my mind that it was Patty. DUH!

That was so funny though about the books.

If I were a security guard at Barnes and I saw Bernadette Peters walking out with an armload of CDs and bag of money out of the cash register about the most I could do would be to say "Wow! Bernadette Peters! Thanks for coming!"

Who else ran home to watch? This is a GREAT show today. My new favorite dialogue:

Regis: I'm looking at you, you know, when I see you on stage, in these Sondheim musicals and these great roles...

Bernadette: I'm not as dippy.

Regis:...You are the personification of all that is, you know, sophisticated, magnificent, and here you are sitting next to me and you're stealing books!

Yeh, Sister Rose, I agree with you! I watched it too! That was indeed a cute quote!!!!! And I also liked the story about her dog, Kremer. Who is going to Broadway Barks this Saturday? Anyone out there?

Finally got home and was able to watch the tape. Wow, talk about being "up" and "on." I don't think I've ever seen her so ebullient on a talk show before. She was so loose and funny and very flirtatious. And she looked absolutely spectacular. Possibly the best Regis yet.

Oh yeh, Karen! Are you gonna be at Broadway Barks this Saturday? Also, what was your favorite story Bernadette told to Regis and the audience? Mine was when she told him about the books! Our Bernadette could'nt been better than that!

Great stories she was really on today. I can't wait to see her on Sat! Both of those stories were hysterical. When I heard about her friend I just assumed that it was Patty. What was wrong with the story about how she and Michael met?

A little more about the story Bernadette told about the astronaut who has taken her Etc. Etc. up to space with him on the Shuttle Discovery.

"Two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters was in glorious voice this past Tuesday evening when she serenaded a room full of theatre/entertainment writers to celebrate the upcoming release of her new CD, "Sondheim, Etc., Etc. Live at Carnegie Hall: The Rest of It." Accompanied by longtime musical director Marvin Laird on piano, Peters poured out her golden voice in a medley of two Stephen Sondheim classics, "With So Little to Be Sure Of" and "Children Will Listen," which both appear on the terrific new disc. Composer Sondheim was also in attendance at the CD party, beaming from ear to ear as he listened to Peters' wonderful interpretations of his songs. And, Peters not only has a multitude of fans on earth, but there's at least one currently traveling through space. Astronaut Charles Camarda, currently aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery, personally called Peters' press representative to request a copy of the new CD so he could listen to the disc during his space voyage. Coincidentally, both Camarda and Peters are Ozone Park natives. ("Sondheim, Etc., Etc." hits stores on the Angel Records label Aug. 2.)"

Let's just pray that the astronauts arrive home safely. It seems that there were problems with damage to the shuttle again.

Regis: I'm looking at you, you know, when I see you on stage, in these Sondheim musicals and these great roles...

Bernadette: I'm not as dippy.
