I didn't say Jason Alexander was in the same league with them I just knew the name yes from Seinfeld and The Producers and I'd LOVE to see something from Sweeney Todd!

Here's my guesses for the show: a great big overture consisting of pieces of every song Steve (may I call him that?) ever wrote. Not sure who will open the show, but look for songs from Assasins with James Barbour and Alex Gemignani, perhaps Jason Alexander too; something from Passion from Marin Mazzie, although she could easily sing Move On with her hubby, Jason D.; Audra --not sure; Barbara Cook--could it be Send in the Clowns?; Adam Wylie--Giants in the Sky; several singers-at least Jubilant Sykes-something from A Little Night Music; Vanessa Williams-something from Into the Woods, not the Last Midnight, the song they added; Elaine--DUH--Ladies Who...; Carol--I'm Still Here; and, of course, Angie and Len, serving up A Little Priest. I'd guess that Bernadette will do at least Rose's Turn.

There will be a big finale with everyone back on stage, Old Friends maybe, even though it's been used before.

Someone--could it be THE Barbra --will present the award to Steve.

Someone at ATC said that 2 "gals" will be doing It's Always a Woman...hmm, who would I like to see do that...

I don't see Bernadette doing Rose's Turn. I see Being Alive or even more appropriate Move On. Move On is Bernadette's song and she has to be the one to perform it and even though she didn't originate it, I don't think anyone sings Being Alive like Bernadette does. I think they will concentrate more on songs solely written by Sondheim (or Steve if you are Jean :-)), instead of ones he only wrote the lyrics for.

Edit: for which he wrote the lyrics

I just hate ending sentences with prepositions.

Really, I'm anal retentive in a good way. Sarah, Mandy and Ashley will, I hope, back me up.

Moljul, as Winston Churchill once said, "That is the sort of pedantry, up with which I will not put."

Speaking of Churchill, did anyone else react to Tony Blair's statements today by noting how remarkably ineloquent even the British have become.

If Molul wasn't AR we'd be missing out on vital correct information! I'm betting that Barbara will sing In Buddy's Eyes - she sang it both at Wall to Wall and Children & Art and supposedly its Mr. Sondheim's (I'm not a first name basis) favorite song that she does. I think Bernadette will sing Move On or Children Will Listen. I'm sure Angie and Len will definitely do A Little Priest - OMG I'm so jealous! Audra might do something from Passion. Of course, Marin Mazzie and hubbie Jason Daniely did a hot, hot version of So Much Happiness from Passion at Wall to Wall - they almost set the stage on fire. And we've only been talking about the legendary performers, let's not forget that Paul Gemignani is a legend too - I'm a big fan - and he has been working with Mr. Sondheim for years. I think Anne Hathaway will reprise Kiss Me from Sweeney which she did at Children & Art (I can't remember who her duet was with but it was smashing and she was wonderfully surprised and happy that she nailed it!). I have no guesses on why Erik McCormack or Emmy what's her name from the POTO movie are even invited to be on stage.

And Karen - I'm afraid you're right about Blair's words - perhaps Dubya is rubbing off on him. But oh, what a sad day for our friends across the pond.

Oh, ok, I've got it:
Audra, Marin, and Angela doing You Could Drive a Person Crazy.

Sister, I think you've hit it with Barbara--she sang Buddy's Eyes at the May 11 concert I attended and it was magnificent.

But who will sing Clowns?? Oh, Eric McCormack with Josh Groban.

LOL - I love it about Send in the Clowns - perfect duo! And what a great idea for "You Could Drive a Person Crazy" but nobody does it better than Bernadette ALL BY HERSELF!

Definately no one sings it better than Bernadette. Did anyone else see the Daily News article about the conert?

I've got your back, Moljul!

This concert sounds amazing............our fantasy versions of who will perform which song are fantastic. But, no matter how great it is to think of certain people singing certain songs, I'm sure nothing will even come close to what will actually occur! For those of you going, have a wonderful time and take copious notes!!!!!!!
