I didn't get to see the whole thing, but I caught the last couple of minutes of a Lifetime movie that Bernadette Peters was in. The movie was called "Bobbie's Girl". I think she was a lesbian in the film and at the end she gets married to her lover. Has anyone seen this?

It's kind of cheesy, but it's funny in its cheesyness. It uses about every sentimental cliche ever invented, but the little kid in it is incredibly cute and he and BP have some nice moments.

We've had quite a few chats about this movie since it first aired on Showtime in 2002; here's a link to some chit-chat:

Bobbie/Bailey

And, if you are hungry for more, you can use the excellent "search" feature, the little box on the upper right of the screen, by typing in "Bobbie".

=====
I revisited this movie the other day, and watched specifically for two things: Bailey's "arc"--that is, how her character moves and grows from being warm/charming but somewhat irresponsible/eccentric/quirky(I know, over-used)/self-centered to nurturing/outward-directed/practical; and her clothing/jewelry. Both aspects impressed me mightily. Bailey becomes someone I would want on my side.

Aww...I love this movie. It's gotten to the point where I've put it on and my mom walks into the room, stares at the TV, rolls her eyes, and walks back out. I seem to have a high tolerance for these sorts of movies lol... It is sweet though. Very quirky.

I'm a Bobbie's Girl fan too. As a made-for-cable movie, it is what it is. But it has a very good heart, and beautiful Irish coastlines, and Bernadette looks hot in eyewear. What's not to love?
