From: NYC | posted: 9/7/2004 at 3:19:58 PM ET After Hurrican Charley, many of the animals that were left homeless were brought to the North Shore Animal Shelter among other places. I'm sure they are being rescued from all over Florida because of the flooding, etc.

Registered: 6/7/2003 | posted: 9/13/2004 at 6:16:02 PM ET This morning I talked with someone who told me that some people from Maryland went to Florida after both hurricanes to help with rescuing horses, as well as some other animals. She said they will bring some horses back here if necessary, but so far they've been able to house them (oh that's just not the right word) in Florida.

I hope any posters (family & friends) on this board from Florida are safe and that there isn't a lot of damage associated with this storm. I'm not sure people down there can take much more of this!
