Looks like Florida has gotten pounded by Frances -- hope that BP had battened down the hatches of her home!

I know! I was thinking the same thing when they showed a map of Florida and Vero Beach looked to be right in the path of the hurricane. Hope all is well!

I often wonder who looks after the animals in the shelters after catastrophic events like this.

After Hurrican Charley, many of the animals that were left homeless were brought to the North Shore Animal Shelter among other places. I'm sure they are being rescued from all over Florida because of the flooding, etc.

(Just straightening up this evening.)

This morning I talked with someone who told me that some people from Maryland went to Florida after both hurricanes to help with rescuing horses, as well as some other animals. She said they will bring some horses back here if necessary, but so far they've been able to house them (oh that's just not the right word) in Florida.

Can the people of Florida PLEASE catch a break soon! Looks like Hurricane Jeanne is heading straight for the east coast of central Florida!

I hope any posters (family & friends) on this board from Florida are safe and that there isn't a lot of damage associated with this storm. I'm not sure people down there can take much more of this!

I know, isn't it terrible! Sounds like Vero Beach is getting pounded again (along with a lot of other places).
