From: Bethel Township, PA | posted: 5/9/2004 at 10:06:02 PM ET I just got home from a WONDERFUL weekend in NYC. I saw Gypsy on Friday night and it was wonderful, although it did sound like Bernadette might be getting a cold. When we went to purchase tickets today for the 5/30 show, they said that Bernadette had hut her leg and was limping. They said she hurt her leg at the end of the show last night. Anybody know anything else? Oh, also, I forgot to say she was out for today's show.

I was in the center mezzanine, so if anyone who may have been there closer to the stage saw anything, please share. I hope she is ok.

I hope she's feeling better, and perhaps just took today's show off as a precaution to keep her leg up, and will of course be able to rest tomorrow since it's her day off.

Registered: 4/12/2004 | posted: 5/10/2004 at 9:17:38 AM ET Actually I thought I saw her slip a bit during "Small World"on Friday night. I thought I noticed her limping a little but forgot about it--especially during "Mr. Goldstone"--she was dancing all over the place, as always. Hope she is okay.

Registered: 4/12/2004 | posted: 5/10/2004 at 3:56:29 PM ET Actually I saw the show Saturday, not Friday---and let me quantify "slip"--it almost looked like she stubbed her toe, you know what I mean? Like a trip. It wasn't obvious but I was close to the stage, perhaps that's why I saw it. Like I said, she carried on as if it were no problem for the rest of the performance. And-I truly thought nothing of it until I read this post today.
Upon rereading my last post, I thought I made this seem a bit more that it was. Sorry to ramble!

| posted: 5/10/2004 at 4:09:41 PM ET I'm not trying to accuse any of you of lying but has it actually been confirmed that she missed yesterday's show and that she truly did injure herself or is this just information that you have heard. Because I find it very hard to believe that her absense has not been announced or discussed on any theater website (Playbill, etc.) or discussed on any chat boards. Surely if Bernadette was out and Maureen went on, playbill would have a story on it.
Have those of you who heard she was out or injured gotten your information from extremely reliable sources or were you actually at the Sunday performance and saw Maureen go on as Rose?
Honestly, just wondering.

Registered: 4/12/2004 | posted: 5/10/2004 at 4:46:14 PM ET Alright-because I took part in this thread--I felt the need to go do some investigating (and since I work around the corner from the Schubert, it was relatively easy) The board in the lobby that lists who will be in/out of a performance did in fact indicate that Rose was portrayed by Maureen Moore. Now given the fact that Gypsy is off today, I am assuming it was from yesterday's performances. I didn't wait to talk to a ticket agent because there was a line and I couldn't wait. I had to get back to work! Hope this clears some of this up!
