Hi everyone!

I'm not really all that bright when it comes to technology so I'm going to need help from all you people out there that are "tech savy".

Recently, I saw a laserdisc version of Into the Woods up for auction on ebay. What exactly is a laserdisc? Does it have better quality than a DVD? Please help!

I am truly a happier person because of Bernadette Peters

Laser disks were this new way of watching movies that I saw in the early nineties. They were probably around in the 80s too. Anyway, they were like an early version of DVDs and they are like the size of a record. They arent very good and you need a player to play one.

Some people change your life forever. Thank you, *Bernadette*

Hey I love my LD player Doesn't have any of that "region locking" stupidity that DVDs players have and you can pick up old discs really cheap. There's this place in Jersey that sells LDs for $4-$5/movie compared to $15-$20 for DVDs. On an older TV LDs and DVDs look the same (to me anyway).

I have the LDs of ITW, Sunday.., Company documentary, BP's 1979 concert, Les Miserables and Sondheim Celebration at Carnegie. I got each one for $5.. can't beat 'em if you already have a player. If you don't have one it's much better to get the DVDs because a decent LD player isn't cheap (and are getting harder to find).
