I'm new to this board, so if my question has been asked before, please forgive me. I was just wondering why "Making Love Alone" has been taken off of Sondheim, Etc. I have a copy without it, my bf has a copy with it, so I'm a bit confused. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!!

I would have to assume because of the nature of the song, "some" deemed it in appropriate. Very unfortunate as it is an hysterical song and very tastefully done. And there is sure a lot worse out there on CDs these days.

Welcome to the board. Hope you enjoy your time here.

If you'd like to read our previous discussions about this song, in the little box on the upper right of your screen type "Making Love Alone" (be sure to include the parentheses). You are right, this question has been asked before, and Moljul's response is on the money.

And, having seen her do this song --once at a concert and once on the Johnny Carson Show at the MTR (Museum for Television and Radio) I can attest that Bernadette sings the song quite tastefully. Actually, I think that is what makes it so riotous--she's singing these suggestive lyrics and looking like an innocent little angel!

It is a rights issue.

For anyone who's looking for a copy of the CD with "Making Love Alone" I'd recommend ebay...there are a lot of old copies floating around. That's how I found it. Just be sure to ask the seller for the list of songs first. And the intro or little story or whatever you wanna call it she does is really cute and funny.
