What a great chance to finally ask that burning question you have for her! (I am NOTG53, and have already posted my questions.)

I love this...
{Kevin--do you want to put a note on the home page or otherwise call attention to this? Jean}

| posted: 2/19/2004 at 2:18:41 PM ET That's funny. I just assumed there was nothing in that can of dog food and she was pretty much faking it. Just like I'm assuming there is no tea in the cups in the Chinese Restaurant. In fact I believe when I once sat in the bacony that was pretty evident.

Karen: surely you have something you'd like to know--after all, she can't see you blush...seriously, as long as it's not personal (and I wouldn't fawn or gush but that's just me), go for it!

Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 2/20/2004 at 1:21:44 PM ET I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way, but I just went back to the forum, and I'm starting to think that maybe they should have set it up differently. I know I can be overly sensitive, but some of the messages sound so needy and desperate. Also, some very young people seem to be posting their names, addresses, and all sorts of personal information. Maybe that's not such a good idea? Perhaps they should have accepted questions, without actually posting them until they decided which ones to answer. I might be overreacting, but I found it a bit disconcerting.

I sort of agree. I am one of the people who has posted. I don't think mine, or a lot of other people's posts sound needy at all, but I know that some do. The thing is that I don't think they have explained how it's going to work too well. I actually expect them to review the questions and only answer a few. It would be really time comsuming for Bernadette to answer all of them. Although maybe she will.
So, yeah I kind of agree with you. Let's just see what happens. Although I must say that it is so cool that in the morning there was 1 or 2 questions posted, and by 8pm there was already 40!
P.S. A lot of the posts are from younger kids. I don't think needy is the right word........and I think Bernadette will be flattered and grateful more that taken aback. I don't think these posts will hurt anyone. She must be used to it by now!

Registered: 5/3/2002 | posted: 2/20/2004 at 1:42:11 PM ET Chiquita, I think you're right. There'd be nothing at all wrong with the messages in a personal fan letter. I was just concerned because it's a public forum, and some of these people are so young.

Registered: 6/7/2003 | posted: 2/20/2004 at 2:22:10 PM ET Oh, boy Karen: I thought exactly the same thing, but didn't want to appear to be too judgmental/overly cautious/whatever. I'll bet whoever is reading these questions (and I assume that someone will screen them for Bernadette) will just not show her some of them. On the other hand, she surely is very well aware that a lot of her fans are very young with all that implies.
(I agree with you that maybe some of these "kids" shouldn't be so freely handing out email addresses. Where are the parents?)

From: Toronto | posted: 2/20/2004 at 2:39:40 PM ET I totally understand what you are saying, I really do. But these "kids" aren't THAT young that their parents should be watching what they're doing on the internet (to an extent). We need our e-mails to register on the forum so people can get a hold of them regardless........I don't know. I think it's fine. I would like to think that anyone who goes on the GYPSY forum, or this website for that matter, is a good person. You have no idea how many people have my home address after making that scrapbook. I never worried that anything would happen.
I'm sticking to my opinion that Bernadette will be flattered and will enjoy reading all the posts. Whether or not she replies to all of them is another story!
Ok, so this is what I do when I don't want to start a 7 page essay for school........
