Every time I make a selection -- month, date, time -- it refreshes itself and then tells me there are no tickets or tells me to type in the word on the screen which doesn't show up on my computer. Anyway from what I could access on the new Telecharge, it looks like Gypsy will be switching to Sunday matiness come March.

Registered: 6/7/2003 | posted: 2/12/2004 at 6:14:27 AM ET I see from ATC that others are having the same problem with Telecharge--I am not. Keep trying or call them to order/report the problem.
As far as your Feb. 28 ticket. If you'd like to wait for a later date, how about calling Telecharge Customer Service and telling them the situation. Be very polite (I'm sure you would be!). Then tell them what you'd like to do: get a refund on the Gypsy ticket and buy another for a later date. Be sure to tell them that you are far away from NY. Play on their sympathy. I returned 2 tickets bought through Telecharge in the last 6 months or so, once by telling the absolute truth (inadvertently bought tickets when I already had others) and once by lying (illness in the family across the country). I hope noone from Telecharge reads here.

From: NYC | posted: 2/12/2004 at 8:45:36 PM ET grrr... The schedule change sooooooo pisses me off, because now there are no Monday night performances, and I had tickets for Monday, March 15th, and that is the ONLY day I could go. I guess I won't be seeing the show after all...

Registered: 8/14/2003 | posted: 2/13/2004 at 7:22:51 AM ET I just received an email from Playbill.com stating that they are extending the discount performances through April 11 and that starting March 2 the cast will be on a new performance schedule: Tues. - Sat. at 8,
Wed. & Sat. at 2, and Sun. at 3.
If anyone wants me to forward the email with additional information, please let me know.

| posted: 2/13/2004 at 1:20:50 PM ET I wonder why they're changing the performance schedule? Perhaps they figured they would sell more tickets to families for Sundays instead of Mondays?

Registered: 6/7/2003 | posted: 2/13/2004 at 1:34:35 PM ET Well, true about families. Also I think of tourists; probably more likely to get people from outside the tri-state area on a Sunday afternoon than in the evening. I don't know if they've done market research, but it could be that they want to appeal to families and tourists.
I'd also think that they would send the major asset of this show--Bernadette--out to do some more publicity stuff.
(Speaking as one of those tourists, I'm thrilled with the Sunday matinee schedule and have already bought my Spring Sunday Gypsy ticket.)

| posted: 2/13/2004 at 2:54:56 PM ET The schedule change has two benefits really; another weekend show (which will sell better), and a longer period of rest for the principle singers. These vocal parts are quite demanding. I don't know how they do it! Bernadette in particular must be pushing herself to new limits with this show.
